Cycling is a fun way of keeping fit and getting to places more quickly than walking. Jonny recommends you make sure you do this checklist before you set off on a journey:

  • Make sure you have trained properly
do a cycling proficiency course, you can find out when and where these are from your local road safety officer
  • Wear a helmet!!!
It is SOOO important to wear a helmet, your head is not harder than the kerb and nobody likes to see brain soup on the pavement…
When you are getting a helmet, follow this guide:
  • Make sure you can be seen!
Wear a reflective jacket and bright clothes, make sure that your bike’s lights are fitted, have full batteries and are on!
  • Make sure your bike isn’t goin to fall apart!
Check your bike every week or so to make sure that it doesn’t have any damage to it e.g. punctures, rusty cogs and so on
  • Click here to see bike shops in your area:
