Alcohol Misuse

spacer

Alcohol effects different people in different ways, not everybody can drink the same amount of alcohol. A person who drinks less alcohol than another person may suffer heavier and more extreme side effects. The side effects depend on:

Your Age:
Older and younger people's bodies are not able to process the alcohol as well as that of a middle aged adult.

What food you have eaten:
The less you have eaten prior to a drink can increase the effects the alcohol will have.

How much you have drank:
The more that you drink the more extreme the side effects will be, especially with the higher % levels of Alcohol (i.e. Alco Pops, Strong Lagers and Spirits).

How used to alcohol your body is:
No matter how often you drink the damage inflicted on your body will be the same.Your size and weight: The smaller and lighter you are the more your body will hold the alcohol in your system.
