Effects:
Hallucinations, pupil dilation, paranoia, confusion and loss of sense of time. Sound and colours may become mixed up. The tiniest amount of LSD can upset some people by its effects, which in extreme cases can result in psychological problems.
What to look for:
These drugs come in small squares of blotting paper, about quarter the size of a postage stamp, often displaying colourful images. Look out for a change in behaviour, with expressions of fear, anxiety and disorientation.

Once LSD is swallowed, the effects can of LSD can exceed 24 hours. LSD is not considered to be addictive, it was a widely used substance but in recent years it has become less common, costing around £2-£3.
FACT:
Innocent looking squares of paper with colourful designs of cartoons or film characters like Batman and Bart Simpson could be impregnated with LSD.
Law:
- LSD is a CLASS A drug, the law takes LSD very seriously.
- If you are caught with LSD in your possession (holding the drug for your own use) you can serve up to 7 years in prison and /or a fine.
- If you are caught with LSD and were intending to sell or supply it to other people you could receive a maximum of life imprisonment and / or a fine.
