Liberty cap and mushies.

Effects:
Several species of mushrooms produce hallucinations, especially the Liberty Cap. The effects depend on the users mood. Visual and sound distortions, and a change in the sense of time or all common. The effects also depend on the strength/dose of the mushrooms. These effects can be frightening.

What to look for:
Small brown mushrooms. The main growing season in Britain is between September to November.

Similar to LSD, magic mushrooms can cause distressing psychological effects - such as flashbacks - which can occur some time after they have initially been taken.

FACT: Taking the wrong kind of mushrooms can lead to poisoning.

Law:

  • Although it is against the law to possess psilocybin (the converted form of magic mushrooms) the possession and use of magic mushrooms in their natural form is not illegal.
  • However, magic mushrooms become illegal if they are prepared or processed for use. Police have brought prosecutions against people in the past who have intentionally produced magic mushrooms.
