C. It has become illegal to possess and use steroids in Britain since September 1996 and is illegal to sell steroids without prescription.

Effects:
Many people use them to enhance their image, as they increase muscle tissue. However, misuse can lead to a reduced sex drive, lowered sperm count, liver damage and heart disease. Women experience increased growth of hair (particularly on the face and body), reduced breast size, irregular periods, increased aggression and deepening of the voice. Men suffer from acne, an increase in aggression, impotence, kidney damage, development of breasts and premature baldness.
