The MATRIX is a multi agency team providing help support and treatment
for young people with substance misuse problems, families and carers
whose lives have been affected by substance use or those who are
at risk of developing substance use issues.
Formed
by South Tyneside Drug Action Team (DAT)the purpose is to bring
all of the relevant agencies together in one place to provide a
comprehensive service to young people and their families/carers
within South Tyneside.
The MATRIX is comprised of staff from:
- South Tyneside Drug Action Team (DAT)
- North East Council on Addictions (NECA)
- Barnardos/Streetlevel
- Gateshead and South Tyneside Health Authority
- Turning Point/Arrest Referral
- Youth Offending Service (YOS)
- and partnerships with a range of young peoples services within
South Tyneside, including Connexions and the Youth Service Staff
of the MATRIX Young People's Project.
